About This D-Profile Rubber Seal

Trim-Lok’s D-shaped EPDM Sponge Rubber Seal can act as a bumper or seal, with a height of .5" and a width of .5". Find out which adhesive system will work best for your use below, and choose BT, HT, or No Tape when you order.

EPDM Rubber Seal Applications

D-shaped weatherstripping can be used to seal out:

  • • Moisture
  • • Dirt
  • • Debris
  • • Air leaks

When used as a bumper between two substrates, this D-shaped rubber seal provides vibration reduction and some noise cancellation.

These seals can fill in gaps on doors and lids where the gap may vary in size. For optimal performance, remember to choose the D-shaped weatherstripping rubber seal in a size that will provide 25–40% compression for your application

3M™ BONDED TAPE SYSTEM

The ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. Creates a moisture barrier and air tight seal between the D-shaped rubber seal and the substrate. Highest peel and shear resistance, can be used under high loads of stress and force. Has low initial tack for easy re-positioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full bond strength. Good heat performance -20F to 158F

STANDARD PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE

This acrylic based adhesive is best when used to hold the rubber seal in place while installing in a static application or compressed between two stationary objects. May be used in some light duty dynamic applications against a variety of substrates. Good heat performance -20F to +158F.
